HEAR YE! HEAR YE! COME ONE, COME ALL!
Join us for the summer reading program for ages 2-12 at your Mason Public Library!
Visit our website atwww.masonpl.lib.oh.us throughout the summer. Please note:
***Due to the current construction at the library, we are having story times off site!***
THERE’S NO PRE-REGISTRATION! - HERE’S HOW IT WORKS!
Simply begin keeping track of your reading time starting the day after Memorial Day. For every 15 minutes that you read, cross off one block on the chart. BE SURE to cross them off in the order of the numbers. You will register with us after you have completed the first 30 blocks. Reading logs may be picked up at the library or downloaded from our website near the end of May.
On Monday, June 10, readers may begin bringing their sheets to the library to claim prizes and get a registration slip for one of our larger prizes. Prize slips will only be given as readers achieve 30, 60 & 90 block levels. Readers may complete as many sheets as they wish during the program which runs from Tuesday, May 28 until Friday, August 2 at 2:00PM. Check ins will end promptly at 2:00PM on Friday, August 2, so that we may contact the winners of the large prizes by the end of the day. Once again many local businesses and organizations have made donations to our summer reading program. The more you read, the more chances you get!
Please remember that a significant portion of our library funds still come from the state. This amount is based on circulation. We depend on you to check out items from Mason Public Library for your summer reading. Please visit us in spite of the construction going on.
Reading Log Prize Levels
When you have completed 30 & 60 blocks, you will get a prize slip and an opportunity to pick a small prize from our Treasure Chest. When you register at your first 30, you will also receive a certificate for a free Kid’s Pizza from LaRosa’s. When you have completed your first 90 blocks, you will pick a prize from the Super Treasure Chest as a prize from the Library as well as receive a certificate for free beginner Karate Lessons from the Japanese Karate-Do, a half off certificate from the Ohio State Parks, a State Fair coupon, and a free game pass from Lazer Kraze! Please note: You may complete as many reading logs as you wish but we may only give out the special prizes at 90 blocks once. After that, you may pull from the treasure chest and receive prize slips at 30, 60 and 90.
If you are going to be out of town at the end of the program, you might consider having a neighbor, family or friend bring in the reading log for you that week. Leave your sheet with them and call in any updates to them. Be sure they know that the program ends at 2:00PM on Friday, August 2 and what box to put your prize slip in!
